EcoCeres prepares for expansion in Malaysia with new storage agreement
EcoCeres leases 100,000m³ storage in Malaysia's Dialog Terminal to support its new 400,000-tonne renewable fuel facility.
Johor, Malaysia, 12 August, 2024 – EcoCeres Limited (“EcoCeres” or the “Company”), a subsidiary of EcoCeres Inc., agreed to lease 100,000 m3 in Dialog Terminals Langsat (3) Sdn. Bhd. (“DTL3”)'s expanded storage facilities in Tanjung Langsat, Johor Darul Ta'zim, Malaysia.
Dialog Terminals Langsat is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Dialog Group Berhad. It recently expanded its facilities with an additional 150,000 m3 of storage for renewable and petroleum products at its terminal and secured the said take-or-pay agreement with EcoCeres. The expansion of the Dialog terminal is expected to be completed in Q1 FY2027.
The new lease follows EcoCeres' announcement of a significant investment in a new production facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. The new renewable refinery is expected to be operational in the second half of 2025 and is strategically located less than 1km from DTL3, with direct connection to DTL3's storage tanks via rundown pipelines. The EcoCeres renewable refinery will produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hydrotreated vegetable oils (HVO), and renewable naphtha, which will be stored in DTL3's dedicated (to EcoCeres) tanks. The facility has an annual capacity of up to 400,000 tones. DTL3 storage optimizes renewable refinery investment in storage infrastructure while logistical integration of rundown pipelines enhances operational efficiency. “This collaboration will facilitate the integration of EcoCeres' new Malaysia refinery into the global logistics infrastructure, help EcoCeres' customers access high-quality renewable fuels, and contribute to the growth of EcoCeres as a global player in the renewable fuels market,” says Jeremy Baines, Chief Commercial Officer of EcoCeres.
